Apps often open links in their own browser and don't say where the click came from. Beacon recognises those apps, starts a new visit when someone arrives from somewhere new, and gives you campaign links for every post, so the source is never lost.

Not for Beacon. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in the visitor's browser. A visitor is counted with a code that changes every day, made on our server, and the IP address is never stored.
